Tattoo Removal Consultation & Process
Begin your tattoo removal journey with a complimentary consultation where our specialists assess your tattoo and skin type to design a tailored treatment plan. During this session, we explain the procedure, address any concerns, and schedule treatments around your lifestyle—taking into account recent tanning or upcoming events.
Using our advanced Voyager Series lasers, we precisely target tattoo pigments, breaking the ink into smaller particles that your body gradually removes. This process also stimulates collagen production, improving skin texture and firmness. Following treatment, you may experience mild redness or swelling for a few hours to 48 hours; we provide detailed aftercare guidance and recommend soothing products to support recovery.
Tattoo removal is a gradual process, with noticeable fading after multiple sessions. The number of treatments needed depends on factors such as tattoo size, age, colour, and location. With each session, the tattoo lightens as the ink is progressively broken down, ensuring safe and lasting results.
Popular Tattoo Removal Areas & Optimal Laser Choices
At Le Papillon Clinic, we use state-of-the-art laser technology to safely remove tattoos from any area while protecting your skin, regardless of tone. For delicate areas like the eyebrows, the IPL laser delivers ultra-short pulses that target pigment precisely, making it ideal for sensitive spots and darker skin. For facial tattoos, the IPL laser is preferred for its rapid pulse duration, which minimises scarring risk and is gentle on sensitive facial skin.
When treating tattoos on the neck and throat, the IPL laser offers efficient results, especially for deeper skin tones and multi-coloured designs. For intricate tattoos on the hands and fingers, IPL again provides precise treatment with minimal risk. Larger areas such as the arms, legs, chest, and back are best treated with the IPL laser, which penetrates deeply to handle dense ink while preserving skin integrity. Foot and ankle tattoos, which often fade unevenly, also respond well to IPL.
Black ink is generally easier to remove because it absorbs laser energy effectively, while coloured inks require more sessions. Red ink responds well to targeted wavelengths, whereas blue and green inks tend to be more stubborn and may need additional treatments with carefully adjusted settings.
